Senior Patrol Leader

All members of a troop vote to choose their Senior Patrol Leader. Senior Patrol Leaders must have achieved the rank of first class and completed 8th grade. Elections take place immediately prior to each Court of Honor and terms are for six months.

The SPL is responsible for the troop’s overall operation. With guidance from the Scoutmaster, they takes charge of troop meetings, of the Troop Leaders’ Council, and of all troop activities. They are responsible for the annual program planning meeting and assist the Scoutmaster in conducting the troop leadership training. The senior patrol leader presides over the Troop Leaders’ Council and works closely with each patrol leader to plan troop meetings and make arrangements for troop activities. The senior patrol leader and the Scoutmaster must work closely at every meeting and event.

Assistant Senior Patrol Leader

All members of a troop vote to choose their Assistant Senior Patrol Leader. ASPL’s must have achieved the rank of first class and completed 8th grade. Elections take place immediately prior to each Court of Honor and terms are for six months.

Among the ASPL’s specific duties are providing training and guidance for the troop’s Quartermaster, Scribe, Order of the Arrow representative, and Historian.

The ASPL serves in place of the senior patrol leader at meetings and events when the senior patrol leader must be absent.

Patrol Leader

The Patrol Leader is elected by the members of their patrol. Elections take place immediately prior to each Court of Honor for a term of six months.

The patrol leader helps the patrol decide on a Patrol name, create a patrol flag and patrol cheer.

With the help of the assistant patrol leader they plan and lead patrol meetings and activities.

Patrol Leaders prepare the patrol for campouts by supervising the packing of patrol gear boxes. They organize tenting and cooking assignments before each campout.

The patrol Leader represents the patrol at all patrol leaders' council meetings and at the annual program planning meeting.

The Patrol Leader knows the needs and capabilities of the patrol members and works to make them successful.

Assistant Patrol Leader

The Assistant Patrol Leaders are elected by the members of their patrol. Elections take place immediately prior to each Court of Honor for a term of six months.

The Assistant Patrol Leader plans and leads patrol meetings and activities in the Patrol Leaders absence.

They assist their Patrol Leader in preparing the patrol for camp outs.

Assistant Patrol Leaders are invited to attend all Troop Leaders' Council meetings.
